Book os Vertebrates

 Dear Families and Students,

In our Science class, we are diving into Unit 3: Vertebrates, and this week, we have an exciting project for our young scientists! They will become authors and illustrators of their own "Book of Vertebrates". This activity will help reinforce what we've been learning about animals with backbones while allowing for creativity and self-expression.

Task Instructions:

  1. Materials: Use 3 sheets of paper folded in half to create a book with 6 pages.

  2. Cover Page:

    • Include your name.
    • Title: "Unit 3: Vertebrates".
    • Decorate it with drawings or designs that represent vertebrates!
  3. Sections:

    • The book will have 5 sections, each dedicated to a different group of vertebrates:
      • Mammals: Contraportada (back cover) and the first page.
      • Birds: Pages 2 and 3.
      • Reptiles: Pages 4 and 5.
      • Amphibians: Pages 6 and 7.
      • Fish: Pages 8 and 9.
  4. Content: For each group:

    • Draw an animal from that group.
    • Write about its characteristics:
      • Body parts (e.g., fins, wings, scales).
      • Does it have hair, fur, or feathers?
      • Is it oviparous (lays eggs) or viviparous (gives live birth)?
      • How does it breathe (lungs, gills)?
      • Any other fun facts you know!

I can't wait to see your wonderful books and celebrate your creativity!

I love you!!!!
